Cynthia began her yoga journey about 13 years ago. She sought out the hot room to complement running and weightlifting but soon realized that there was way more to the practice than asana. Forever a student, she signed up for a 200 hour yoga teacher training program led by Jen Jones and never planned on teaching. However, with encouragement from Val, Cheri and Jeremy, she taught her first class at Hot4Yoga’s location on 143. Yoga has opened up a world of possibilities and opportunities and she continues to study all aspects of yoga. Her current home base is Columbia, MO, but she pops in Hot4Yoga’s new studio whenever she is in town visiting family, relatives and her Hot4Yoga Familia!
Cynthia has more than 1100 hours of training including a 200 certification in Hatha Yoga and a 200 Hour certification in Progressive Ashtanga Vinyasa with David Kyle and Manuel Oria in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She has also accumulated 200 hours of Rocket Vinyasa training in PR with David, Manuel, Christiane and Mariana in English and Spanish. She is a registered children’s yoga teacher, earning her certification with Yoginos Yoga for Youth. Most recently, she completed Standup Paddleboard Yoga Teacher Training in Tulum, Mexico, and unplug Meditation Teacher Training. Cynthia is on the teacher training faculty for both Lotus Hot Yoga and Sumits Hot Yoga in Columbia and enjoys sharing the art and science of yoga with future teachers.
